Tips for Choosing a
Renovation/Remodeling Contractor
Always insist on a written contract. The most certain way to invite unwanted surprises is to agree upon a project with nothing more than a hand-shake. A written contract between homeowner and contractor ensures a mutual understanding as to the scope, materials and timing of your project.
Unless you have decided to act as your own
general contractor, pass on the firm that asks you to obtain the
building permits. That
firm is probably trying to avoid contact with the local building
authority or is unlicensed.
While licensure does not guaranty quality, lack of the proper
license will almost certainly mean a lack of quality.
At Parker Henry Construction, our quotes include obtaining
all required permits and ensuring that the required inspections by
the local building code official are performed.
Insist on getting what you wanted. A reputable contractor wants you to be happy with your project. At Parker Henry Construction, your satisfaction is our bread and butter. It is our hope that you will recommend us to your friends and family.
Make sure your warranty is spelled out in writing. As much as we endeavor to have everything perfect every time, such can’t always be the case. The warranty given by the firm that does not provide it in writing is worthless. At Parker Henry Construction, labor and materials is warranted for one year. Additionally, if your project includes installation of new appliances, we will provide you with all extended warranties provided by the manufacturers.
